Are you passionate about strength and conditioning and working with athletes of all levels? The Oval’s High Performance Department provides comprehensive Strength & Conditioning support to athletes ranging from community to Olympic and Paralympic levels. As part of this department, the Strength & Conditioning Coach will contribute to developing high-performance programs, lead team and individual training sessions, and help drive business development while maintaining key relationships with coaches, athletes, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:

- Instruct, educate, provide guidance, and motivate individual athletes, small groups, and sports teams of all ages and abilities.
- Work as part of an integrated team with medical professionals and sport coaches to coordinate the training activities of athletes.
- Work extensively with managers, coaches, and administrative personnel from the Oval’s Network of local, provincial and national sport organizations.
- Develop, implement, and deliver appropriate programs to enhance the physical abilities of athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Deliver industry gold standard training methodologies.
- Develop programs intended to re-condition injured athletes.
- Experience using performance testing equipment and familiar with appropriate protocols, specifically isometric strength testing, timing gates, force plates, video, and motion capture tools.
- Consistently communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and other key stakeholders.
- Attend & participate in, and present at team meetings.
- Assist in the administration of the High-Performance department and training facility.
- Create and deliver both internal and external educational seminars.
- Perform research, reports and administrative duties related to high performance sport.
- Actively contribute to marketing activities including social media initiatives.
- Assist in, and/or develop educational content including presentations, videos, articles, and blog posts.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

- A Bachelor’s degree in human kinetics, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.
- A minimum of 3 years of strength and conditioning experience working with athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Experience with provincial, national, Olympic, and/or professional athletes is highly preferred.
- Current strength and conditioning certification (e.g., NSCA CSCS or equivalent).
- A solid understanding of the biomechanics behind various sport-related movements and strength & conditioning prescription.
- Safe Sport Modules (Safe Sport, Rule of Two, Commit to Kids, Making Ethical Decisions) are required.
- A valid First Aid certificate.
- Reliable transportation to service hours at the Richmond Oval and remote locations.
- Must be able to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

Your Schedule Could Look Like:
This position is auxiliary and dependent on business operations which includes evenings and weekends. It is anticipated that the majority of shifts will be weekday evenings. Hours per week range from 10-20 hours.
