Are you ready to lead innovation in a dynamic environment? The Richmond Olympic Oval is seeking an Information Technology Manager to drive our technology roadmap, lead a close-knit team, and ensure the delivery of cutting-edge IT solutions. 

This dynamic role will require a balance of hands-on operational leadership ensuring day-to-day efficiency and execution of core business needs alongside strategic leadership to drive long-term success It focuses on network and server infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications. The IT Manager will also oversee vendor relationships, project management, and departmental budgets while championing innovation and excellence in IT service delivery. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain systems including Windows servers, enterprise networks, hyper-converged infrastructure, and Microsoft 365/Teams/SharePoint. 

  • Project Leadership: Lead IT projects that enhance innovation, technology, and business processes. 

  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Safeguard the Oval’s network integrity and ensure adherence to best practices. 

  • Team Development: Mentor and develop a small, talented IT team, serving as the in-house expert. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain cross-functional partnerships with staff, vendors, and department leaders to meet organizational needs. 

  • Solutions Delivery: Evaluate IT requests, recommend solutions, and implement improvements aligned with business goals. 

  • Technology Deployment: Develop and oversee computer and audio-visual equipment setup, ensuring user needs are met. 

  • Policy & Procedure Development: Research, develop, and implement IT best practices and operational policies. 

  • Budget & Financial Management: Design and manage departmental budgets, including capital project submissions. 

  • Other Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as required.   

 

Qualifications:  

 

Education and Experience 

  • Technical degree or diploma in computer science, information systems, project management, or general business. 

  • Systems Administration certification is required. 

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience, including: 

    • 2+ years of managerial experience leading IT teams. 

    • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide IT systems. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, including operating budgets and capital project submissions. 

  • Certifications in virtualization, networking, COMP TIA A+, and/or ITIL are assets. 

  • PMP certification is an asset. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Expertise in PC hardware, Windows OS, network protocols, and enterprise applications. 

  • Experience with Xplor Recreation is highly valued.  

  • Experience with Marina Tek, or Mindbody Online is an asset. 

 Soft Skills: 

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Effective communicator with a user-focused approach to IT solutions.

Compensation: $106,002–$132,503 per year (+ on-call premium).

Work Schedule: Flexible hybrid model with a 9-day fortnight compressed schedule.  

                             *Must be flexible to meet the operation needs of the Oval. This may include occasional evenings and weekends.
