The Richmond Olympic Oval is seeking two detail-oriented Human Resources Specialists to join our People & Culture team. In this dynamic role, you’ll contribute to a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment and onboarding, employee engagement, people development, labour relations, health and safety and more. You'll also help drive innovation and continuous improvement across our HR programs—ensuring our team members are set up for success and our culture continues to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

- Best Practice Implementation & Innovation: Work independently and alongside the Director of People & Culture to implement best practices across HR programs—supporting initiatives in workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, and change management.
- Employee Life Cycle Administration: Own the end-to-end administration of employee documentation, from onboarding through to offboarding, including offer letters, employment changes, and record maintenance.
- HR Advisory & Policy Guidance: Provide guidance on HR policies, collective agreement interpretation, benefits, vacation entitlements, and process flow for employee changes.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead and own the full-cycle recruitment process—including intake and strategy meetings with hiring managers, job profile and posting creation, resume screening, interview coordination and facilitation, and guiding onboarding and orientation. Provide expertise and support to empower hiring managers throughout the process.
- Benefits & Leaves Administration: Oversee day-to-day benefits administration including enrolments, changes, terminations, and inquiries. Lead the coordination of WCB claims and support the return-to-work process.
- Relationship Building & Culture Support: Foster cross-functional collaboration across the organization and help champion the Oval’s core values of People, Excellence, Leadership, Team, and Innovation.
- HR Operations & Reporting: Prepare HR reports and metrics including headcount, turnover, and training data to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
- Employee Relations & Performance Support: Support leaders in resolving workplace issues, managing performance, navigating change, and conducting investigations when required.
- Best Practice Implementation & Innovation: Work independently and alongside the Director of People & Culture to implement best practices across HR programs—supporting initiatives in workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, and change management.

- Health & Safety: Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety program.
- Special Projects & Strategic Support: Support broader HR initiatives including compensation reviews, succession planning, HRIS implementation, recognition programs, and internal communications.
- Health & Safety: Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety program.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resources Specialist role or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing projects with the ability to drive programs through engagement and communication.
- Experience with HR-related software is considered an asset.
- Completion of, or actively working toward, the CPHR designation is preferred.
- Ability to complete a successful criminal record check.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with minimal supervision.

Salary and Benefits: $68,860 - $86,488 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).
